Temporary Protected Status Extended for Certain Countries

Posted on by

The Department of Homeland Security has announced the automatic extension of TPS designations for El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan. TPS beneficiaries from these countries will retain their status if they continue to meet all the requirements for eligibility through December 31, 2022.

The automatic extension of TPS-related documentation includes Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) as well. The current beneficiaries do not need to pay or file any application to maintain their TPS and have their TPS-related documentation automatically extended through December 31, 2022. Beneficiaries who want a new EAD with the 12/31/2022 expiration date displayed on the card must file a new Form I-765.
