Re-Registration Period OPEN for Salvadorans with TPS

Posted on by

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the re-registration period for El Salvadorans currently under Temporary Protected Status (TPS).  The beneficiary’s must re-register between January 18, 2018  and March 19, 2018.  Instructions and re-registration procedures can be found on uscis.gov/tps. Applicant’s will also able to do apply to renew their employment authorization documents (EAD).

USCIS will issue EADs with the September 9, 2019 expiration date. Due to the time frames involved with processing TPS  applications,  USCIS recognizes that not all applicant’s will receive new EADs before their current EADs expire. Accordingly, USCIS has automatically extended the validity of EADs issued and currently valid under the TPS designation of El Salvador for 180 days, through Sept. 5, 2018.

Those with TPS are encouraged to seek counsel with qualified immigration attorneys about their eligibility for immigration benefits.

Visit the USCIS website for additional information on TPS.
