Healthcare Workers May Qualify for Expedited EAD Processing
Starting December 28, 2021 USCIS began accepting expedite requests for qualifying healthcare workers with pending Employment Authorization Document (EAD) renewal applications.
You may request expedited processing if:
- You are a qualifying healthcare worker (see the “Healthcare/Public Health” section on pages 7-9 of this Department of Homeland Security advisory memorandum to see if you qualify), and
- Your EAD will expire within 30 days or has already expired.
Qualifying healthcare workers include but are not limited to: workers that perform critical, clinical, biomedical, or other research related to COVID-19; healthcare providers including physicians, dentists, psychologists, nurses, emergency medical services personnel, etc. The detailed list is provided pages 7-9 of this Department of Homeland Security advisory memorandum.
