Department of State Temporarily Suspends Routine Visa Services
The Department of State has announced t is temporarily suspending routine visa services at all U.S. embassies and consulates because of the coronavirus.
The Department had previously suspended visa services in countries in like Spain and South Korea, but has now moved to suspend the services worldwide.
U.S. embassies and consulates will continue to provide urgent and emergency visa services – so long as resources allow ( for example, for those U.S. citizens that are stranded abroad).
The State Department also says it is canceling all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments and that the overseas missions will resume routine visa service as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.
